US Non-Stop Flights Expanded at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport
Posted on March 12, 2021
Although residents of Sarasota tend to spend more time in Florida than ever before, it appears traveling to and from the Cultural Coast just got even easier. Domestic non-stop flights from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) have recently been expanded, and that’s great news for the future residents of Bayso Sarasota.
American Airlines is bringing back its daily flights between the Chicago area and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, the fourth airline at SRQ scheduled to fly between Chicago and the Sarasota area daily.
In a recent press release, the airport says American has boosted its seasonal service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport to fly over the summer because of increased demand. Nichelle Barrett, a spokesperson for American Airlines, said in an email. Flights are currently scheduled to run through November and on Saturdays from June to September, the flights will operate twice per day.” Over the past few years, American has also increased its service from SRQ adding Philadelphia and Dallas/Fort Worth to its existing service to Washington DC and Charlotte.
Virginia Haley, president of Visit Sarasota County says, “It’s a sign of the incredible success that SRQ is having, and the anticipation of the pent-up demand for domestic travel, post vaccine.” Haley added “I think you’re going to see that desire to be in places like beaches with open air; I think that’s going to continue.”
Other airlines have also launched new service at SRQ, including Southwest Airlines serving Houston, Nashville, Baltimore, ad Chicago. They will also start serving Atlanta later this month and Pittsburgh and Indianapolis on a more seasonal basis. Southwest also said that is will offer seasonal service to Milwaukee from mid-April to early May. Allegiant Air will begin service to Peoria, Illinois and Concord, North Carolina in May.
“Our homebuyers are a mix of both seasonal and year-round residents,” says Bob Vail, President of Kolter Urban, developer of Bayso Sarasota. “SRQ is only 4 miles away from downtown Sarasota, making it very convenient for residents who frequently travel or have family and friends who visit often. Having the ability to jump on a non-stop flight to Florida and be at your doorstep in less than 15 minutes after arrival is a rare benefit not found in many other coastal destinations.”
Kolter’s Bayso condominium is the company’s fourth new community in Downtown Sarasota, following the successful sellouts of VUE Sarasota Bay, Mark Sarasota and The Residences at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. The 149-residence, 18-story luxury condominium is the latest addition to Quay Sarasota, an exciting new mixed-use community that connects the arts and entertainment district to the bayfront and all the dining and shopping of the downtown area. Bayso condominiums will range from 1,600 sf to just under 4,000 sf and are priced from the $800,000s. Click here to take a Virtual Tour of the community.
Bayso was designed by the renowned SB Architects, with its global headquarters in San Francisco. Premier Sotheby’s International Realty has been selected as exclusive sales representation for Bayso, and the Sales Gallery is now open at 50 Central Avenue, Suite 110 in Sarasota. Construction on the tower is scheduled to begin Mid-2021, with expected completion by Fall of 2023.
